US Business Leadership Network Airs on Sky Radio Network; Interview promotes employment as part of the Campaign for Disability Employment

WASHINGTON, DC (November 5, 2009) - The US Business Leadership Network (USBLN®) today announced that its Executive Director & General Counsel, John D. Kemp, will be featured on the Sky Radio Network's upcoming edition of "Industry Innovators" airing worldwide on Delta Air Lines throughout November/December 2009. US Business Leadership Network among National Partners to Establish National Technical Assistance Center for Employers on People with Disabilities; Cooperative Agreement will be lead by the Employment and Disability Institute (EDI) of Cornell University's Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) School

US Business Leadership Network Announces 2009 Exceptional Leadership Winners

WASHINGTON, DC (September 22, 2009) – The US Business Leadership Network (USBLN®) today announced the winners of its 2009 Exceptional Leadership Awards, which were presented to the recipients last week during the USBLN® 2009 Annual Conference. The awards recognized leaders in three categories - including Partner of the Year, Affiliate of the Year and Employer of the Year. Additionally, Katherine McCary of SunTrust Banks was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for her years of service on the USBLN® board of directors. (DOC | PDF)

Leading Disability Organizations Launch National Campaign for Disability Employment; Unprecedented ‘What Can YOU Do?’ Initiative Calls on Employers and Others to Improve the Disability Employment Landscape

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 18, 2009 – Last evening at the U.S. Business Leadership Network’s (USBLN) Annual Conference and National Career Fair, several leading disability organizations launched the Campaign for Disability Employment, a new collaborative effort to promote positive employment outcomes for people with disabilities. Announcement of the nationwide campaign – built around the theme “What Can YOU Do?” – came during the conference’s keynote speech by Robert David Hall, actor and disability rights advocate. Newly Revised Business Case on Disability Employment

Several months ago, Assistant Secretary Neil Romano designated an ODEP team to work with our EARN staff to update and enhance the disability business case. It was officially announced by Mr. Romano and is now live on the EARN website.

The ODEP/EARN Business Case presents a “business-to-business” dialogue addressing the value of employing people with disabilities through the use of videos and research. The six areas covered in the Business Case are: Return on Investment, Human Capital, Innovation, Marketing, Diversity, and Social Responsibility. Links to supporting data and related resources (federal, state, local, and veteran) are incorporated into the Business Case website which can be found at www.earnworks.com/businesscase.
