Dr. Richard Weitzman is a Medical Director in Novartis’ Drug Safety and Epidemiology group working primarily on products in the neuroscience therapeutic area. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and practiced both as a community and hospital based physician prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry in 2001.
Dr. Weitzman offers the unique perspectives of being a physician with a disability, and is committed to education, opportunity, and equality in the workplace. He has served as the co-chair of the Novartis ERG for people with disabilities.
Dr. Weitzman obtained a BA in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and MD from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is an author on published research in hypertension and kidney disease.
