Stephanie Miller Halish

Stephanie Miller Halish currently serves as Director, Diversity and Inclusion for Capital One, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in McLean, Virginia. One of the nation’s top 10 largest banks based on deposits, Capital One Bank serves banking customers through branch locations in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

In this role, Ms. Halish leads all Diversity and Inclusion reputational and regulatory efforts for Capital One to support a long standing commitment to diversity and inclusion and ensure the company’s employment practices and programs foster a diverse workforce and culture of inclusion. A key accomplishment in this role was launching Capital One’s CapAbilities (Individuals with Disabilities) and Military Associate Networks, which provide support in the form of programs, resources and tools that enable Capital One’s associates to achieve their full potential in an environment that values the differences we all bring to the workplace.

Since joining Capital One in 1993, Ms. Halish served in various roles for the company in areas including Human Resources, Risk Management and Employment Law.

Ms. Halish is a graduate from Roger Williams College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from George Washington University.

An active member of the community, Ms. Halish has served as an Executive Committee Officer on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Business Leadership Network. In January 2014, Ms. Halish accepted the Co-Chair position for the Richmond Industry Liaison Group. She also sits on the CEO Council of The National Organization on Disability. Ms. Halish also participated in and supported national and state initiatives around disability and diversity inclusion practices including the National Governors Association 2013 Chair’s Initiative “A Better Bottom Line: Employing People with Disabilities’” and Virginia’s Executive Order 55 Summit.
