Eli Hinson, an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, firmly believes “having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t reach for the stars.” Mrs. Hinson was diagnosed with dyslexia as she entered her sophomore year at Old Dominion University. After graduating from ODU, Mrs. Hinson joined the United States Marine Corp, becoming a field wireman – Communications Specialist.
In 2000, Mrs. Hinson joined Booz Allen where she supports the Enterprise Solutions Group as the Security Services SharePoint Administrator. Mrs. Hinson is also part of the firm’s employee resource group for individuals with disabilities, the diverseABILITY Forum, and serves as the accommodations lead.
Through her projects, her involvement in the diverseABILITY Forum and her support for the community, Mrs. Hinson in turn encourages others to: get involved to build a supportive network of colleagues, mentors and managers; confidently share stories of strength and success; and identify your strengths and use them to make a difference.
Mrs. Hinson holds a B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Old Dominion University with an emphasis on Hotel Management and a M.A. in Organization Management from the University of Phoenix.
