Emily McDonald

Emily McDonald joined Walmart in April 2011 and held multiple roles supporting Real Estate and Legal before joining the Walmart Foundation in November 2012 as a Project Specialist. In this role Emily was responsible for handling project management for the Women’s Economic Empowerment portfolio. She supported the diversity and inclusion goal by overseeing the design and development of the first-ever online tool that requires Walmart suppliers to report on the diversity of their Walmart and Sam’s Club serving teams; oversaw the creation of all digital and written communication vehicles currently being used to share Walmart’s work to empower women with internal and external audiences, including the production of several key videos aimed to improve corporate reputation with customers.

Emily joined Constituent Relations in October 2014 and serves as the liaison between Walmart and the American Indian and People with Disabilities communities. Additionally, she oversees the Millennial strategy with the purpose of increasing engagement with this specific market segment, as well as assisting with the development of strategic plans for enhancing corporate reputation.

Prior to joining Walmart, Emily served as the Director of the Heritage Youth Development Center at the Joplin Family YMCA, with a broad range of job responsibilities that included working with youth organizations, overseeing facilities management and engaging with key community stakeholders. During her seven years at the YMCA, Emily also served as the Child Care Coordinator and Member Services Director.

Emily is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University.
