Emily Malsch

Emily is responsible for coordinating the jobs and activities associated with the Going for the Gold program, a three-year pilot project funded by a private family foundation and a charitable trust. The Going for the Gold project offers participating companies customized, high quality consulting services on disability inclusion practices, 503 regulatory requirements, how to build a talent pipeline of individuals and veterans with disabilities, effective accommodations policies, processes, and practices.

Emily comes to us with experience in youth empowerment programs as well as disability employment. Emily has more than 10 years of workforce development experience with a focus on promoting and advocating for programs that increase the employment of people with disabilities. She has worked on workforce development programs at the regional, state and national levels. Most recently she provided Ticket to Work consulting services to Virginia’s Department of Aging and Rehabilitation Services under its Disability Employment Initiative project (a U.S. Department of Labor funded grant) and to BCT Partners, for its U.S. Department of Labor’s One Stop Ticket Success Project.

As a Ticket to Work Consultant, Emily provided Employment Network (EN) and Ticket to Work program technical assistance to increase Ticket assignments and EN revenue, developed EN business models for successful implementation of the Ticket to Work program, provided Ticket to Work training to staff, and conducted succession planning to sustain project activities beyond the grant terms.

Prior to her role as a Ticket to Work Consultant, Emily was a Program Specialist with the Operations Support Manager’s National Workforce Initiatives Team whose focus was on strengthening the partnership between Social Security’s Ticket to Work program and the U.S. Department of Labor’s public workforce development system. She was responsible for recruiting and providing technical assistance to new Workforce Boards and American Job Center Operators serving as ENs to maximize success in working with Social Security beneficiaries and in delivering the program outcomes.
