Meenakshi Das is a senior majoring in Computer Science at Mississippi State University. Her interest in Accessibility in technology sparked after attending an Accessibility conference at the University of Washington in Seattle, and she hopes to develop accessible products in the future. She is taking steps towards that goal and recently won a grant to teach computer programming to visually impaired students. Her paper on disability inclusion programs will be presented at a conference in Washington DC this April.
She was also chosen as a Google Lime Scholar in 2018 and will intern at Qualcomm as a software engineering intern in Summer 2018. Currently, she is working as a machine learning intern at Adtran, Inc where she is exploring machine learning applications in the telecommunications industry. As a Secretary of the Rising Leaders Advisory Council(RLAC), she schedules monthly meetings and agendas, and is currently working on a presentation on disability history. In her free time, she enjoys learning new technologies and listening to pop music.
